The EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 project was presented at the Community of Practice for Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoP CoVEs) Forum 2025, held in Kolding, Denmark, bringing together key stakeholders from across Europe to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration within the Centres of Vocational Excellence ecosystem.
The Forum took place between 8–10 September 2025 and gathered more than 350 participants from nearly 40 countries, including project coordinators, vocational education and training (VET) providers, policy makers, industry representatives, and researchers working on skills development and innovation across Europe.
Strengthening the European CoVE Community
The CoP CoVEs Forum is one of the most important annual gatherings of the Centres of Vocational Excellence community, providing a platform for projects funded under the Erasmus+ programme to present their work, exchange good practices, and explore opportunities for collaboration. These initiatives contribute to strengthening skills ecosystems, fostering innovation, and supporting the green and digital transitions across European regions.
During the event, the EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 project was showcased as part of the growing network of CoVE initiatives addressing sectoral skills needs and supporting the development of high-quality vocational education and training in Europe.
Promoting Skills for Sustainable Housing
EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 focuses on advancing skills and innovation in the energy-efficient and sustainable housing sector, bringing together vocational education institutions, universities, industry partners, and innovation stakeholders. The project aims to develop new training programmes, strengthen cooperation between education and industry, and support the transition towards greener construction practices.
Participation in the CoP CoVEs Forum provided an opportunity to:
- Present the objectives and expected impact of the EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 project
- Exchange experiences with other CoVE initiatives across Europe
- Explore potential synergies with related projects and networks
- Contribute to discussions on the future of vocational excellence in Europe
The forum featured a wide range of interactive workshops, panel discussions, and study visits, all focused on strengthening cooperation between education providers, businesses, and regional innovation ecosystems.
Building Collaboration for the Future of VET
The event highlighted the important role that Centres of Vocational Excellence play in supporting innovation, addressing skills shortages, and strengthening the attractiveness of vocational education and training.
By participating in the CoP CoVEs Forum, the EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 consortium reinforced its commitment to contributing to the European community of vocational excellence, sharing experiences and working together with other initiatives to enhance skills development and innovation across Europe.
The project will continue to actively engage with the CoVE community to exchange knowledge, promote best practices, and contribute to shaping the future of vocational education and training in the sustainable housing sector.
